The right diet is an important part of training. If you train properly, you also need to eat properly. Because without the right nutrition, training success is much harder to achieve.

Our fitness nutrition training package, consisting of the two courses fitness trainer and nutrition trainer B license, is the perfect training for anyone who wants to pass on their knowledge of fitness and nutrition to customers or optimize their own training. In this package, you will learn everything you need to know about training in the gym, especially about equipment training and the basics of nutrition in order to achieve success.

You will learn the correct execution and settings of the fitness equipment so that you can coach your customers properly during equipment training. In the area of nutrition, you will receive theoretical input on the topics of special sports nutrition, forms of nutrition and diets or nutritional recommendations and support so that you can competently answer customer queries on specific nutritional issues.

What can you expect from our training?

The nutrition trainer module deals specifically with the basics of nutrition and how to teach them in practice. The focus is also on various forms of nutrition, diets and special sports nutrition. In the fitness trainer module, we will present specific exercises and the use of fitness equipment in numerous videos.

As our training courses can be designed very flexibly, the duration of the training depends heavily on your own learning initiative, the amount of time you spend each week and your previous knowledge. Depending on how much time you can invest and how quickly you absorb the required knowledge, you may be able to complete the course more quickly.

Intro to Corporate Wellness Programs

More and more companies are integrating Corporate Wellness and similar health initiatives into their employee benefits packages. By doing so they promote the health and well-being of their employees, reducing the incidence of sick-leave and building healthier, stronger team dynamics.

Exactly why such initiatives are important is discussed in this introduction to the concept, as well as challenges that such initiatives face including organisational dysfunction.

Participants also learn about the advantages of corporate wellness and some trusted approaches and tools for finding and working with a company.

The unit on Marketing and Customer Interaction gives participants some insight into identifying, working with and marketing to their ideal customer. Training Theory Basics

In this introduction to training theory we look at the foundations of training plan creation and management, including the principles of training, training methodology and factors that influence sports performance.
Because performance capacity, performance diagnostics, training and competition are so interrelated, they are covered together in this unit.

The second half of this unit Im zweiten Teil der Trainingslehre wird das Training als komplexer Handlungsprozess und im Zusammenhang mit Planung, Ausführung und Evaluation definiert und bewertet.

Module Fitness Trainer B-License

Strength Training Machines

Machine-supported strength training is a specialized form of strength training. As opposed to training with free weights, machines which provide a guided and limited movement pattern are used. The movement radius and range of motion is predetermined, which allows less room for compensatory movements or incorrect form.

This type of training is therefore very useful for novices to strength training, but it also a very important tool for bodybuilders and those recovering from injury.

Course participants will learn the proper technique and set-up for a selection of the most important and widely-used strength training machines. Some of the most common mistakes are covered and coaching points are provided so clients can be assisted in their use of machines.

Practical Hours Fitness Trainer B-License
Performing practical training sessions is an essential component to achieving the Fitness Trainer B-License.

Studying the anatomy of the human body, especially the muscles with origin and insertion, is an important part of the preparation for the exam. Documenting the practical sessions are just as important. A training record is used to get an overview of the performed session, the achieved goal and the personal experience of the participants.

There are 30 training units, in which the participants can put their acquired knowledge into practice. Each of these units has to be recorded by the participants on their own responsibility, so they can show that they are able to prepare, perform and evaluate a training session independently.

The Fitness Trainer B-License is one of our smaller training courses to gain basic knowledge on topics of strength training with machines, anatomy, physiology, training theory and much more. It is important to structure the training in a way that the participants understand the exercises and are able to perform them safely. For the practical sessions a guide will be provided to the participants, which they can use to write down the training record.

For the evidence of completed sessions, a written confirmation from a trainer or screenshots from a training app must be provided.

Module Nutrition Coach B-License

Nutrition Recommendations and Support
In Nutrition Recommendation and Support, you learn the basic concepts of nutrition and nutrient requirements. You gain the knowledge to make sound recommendations to meet nutritional needs.

The definitions of a healthy diet according to the guidelines of the nutrition societies will be discussed. In addition, the legal principles are explained in order to clarify what services you are allowed to offer your clients after completing the training.

The course also introduces the national and international nutrition societies, as well as the recommended food classification of the DGE, ÖGE and the Swiss Society. Furthermore, you will get an overview of the nutritional recommendations of the individual countries and learn about the functions of vitamins, minerals and micronutrients in the body and their ideal intake levels.

Forms of Nutrition and Diets
Industrialization has shaped the way people eat nowadays, which has led to the increasing popularity of convenience products and fast food. This development also has an impact on the health of people. More and more suffer from overweight and diet-related diseases. Therefore, it is important to deal with the topics of "types of nutrition and diets" and to learn about individual energy needs.

In the course Nutrition Forms and Diets as part of the Nutrition Trainer program, you will learn how to calculate daily energy needs, consumption and basic metabolic rate. Furthermore, you will learn about the different types of diets that are considered beneficial to health. These include vegetarianism, veganism, low fat diets, ketogenic diets and low carb diets.

Vegetarianism is a form of diet in in which only plant foods are eaten. A vegan diet is a form of vegetarianism but avoids all animal products, including milk, eggs, and honey. Low fat diets are diets that avoid eating foods that are high in fat. Ketogenic diets are diets in which the body uses mainly fats as a source of energy.  Low carb diets are diets in which the amount of carbohydrates in the food is kept as low as possible.

Physiological Aspects of Nutrition
Within the subject of Physiological Aspects of Nutrition, participants learn how to determine the body composition of clients, taking into account various measurement methods.

In addition to body weight, body composition also includes the proportion of body fat, muscle mass and bone mass. Body weight is a composition of muscle percentage, body fat percentage, bone percentage, and water percentage.
The body fat percentage is the amount of body weight that consists of fat. The body composition can be determined using various methods.

One of these methods is the compartment model. This model divides the body into different compartments that contain nutrients and differ in size and nutrient concentration. The compartment model allows for a better understanding of absorption and distribution processes of nutrients in the body. 

In addition to the physiological aspects of nutrition, the participants also learn about other interesting topics during the Nutrition Coach program.

Specialized Sports Nutrition
In this part, the knowledge of the course "Fundamentals of Sports Nutrition" in the basic module is expanded.

Participants learn about the optimal composition of sports nutrition for endurance sports and weight training. In addition, they get to know about the importance of the differences in nutritional needs during the performance and recovery phases of athletes.

Furthermore, the nutritional differences of amateur athletes and professional athletes are covered, and the importance of nutritional supplements and their appropriate use are discussed collaboratively.

In class, the knowledge of energy balance is to be repeated and expanded with knowledge of energy production, energy supply and aerobic/anaerobic glycolysis in sports.

Funding & educational leave - how it works

Can I get funding for my training?

There are a variety of funding options for training courses at the Flexyfit Sports Academy. State-specific and EU funding as well as tax-related options form the basis for this.

However, we would like to point out that the respective funding body is solely responsible for deciding on the allocation or amount of funding.

We will be happy to help you find a suitable funding body and compile all the course information you need for a funding application. You must submit the application itself to the funding body.

How does the funding work?

Depending on the funding institution, the training costs are either paid directly after the funding application has been confirmed (e.g. AMS) or reimbursed in full or in part after successful completion of the training (e.g. waff). Please contact the funding institutions yourself to find out how the funding works.

Can I take educational leave for the course?

Yes, the majority of our courses are suitable for educational leave.

If you want to continue your education without terminating your employment, you can arrange educational leave with your employer. This means you will be released from work for the duration of your training.

Plan your educational leave with us now! We will be happy to clarify your individual training requirements with you in a personal, non-binding consultation.

How does educational leave work?

You can take your educational leave for a maximum of 1 year within 4 years - there are 3 options:

  • Educational leave spread over 12 months
  • Educational leave split up, but each part must last at least 2 months. The parts must be taken within 4 years.
  • Educational leave with part-time educational leave spread over 2 years

It is important that your employer agrees to you taking educational leave. You must provide evidence of the training plans issued by us to the extent of 20 hours per week in the case of full-time educational leave, or at least 10 hours in the case of part-time educational leave.

You must regularly provide evidence of the progress of your training. For example, in the form of examinations or confirmation of attendance, which you will receive from us.

Career afterwards - how to continue after training

What does a fitness trainer do?

The areas of responsibility of a fitness trainer are varied and depend, among other things, on where and in which employment relationship they are employed or self-employed.

In both cases, the focus is of course on fitness. As an employee in a gym, you could also be responsible for administrative tasks in the administration or instructing new gym members.

As a personal trainer, you check the fitness level of your customers and set goals, create training plans for them and explain strength and endurance equipment and fitness exercises. You then accompany your customers on their journey, motivate them and ensure that they achieve their goals.

If you become a group fitness trainer, you will lead group classes for sports such as Pilates, yoga or aerobics. For this, it is advisable to take an additional course to deepen your knowledge.

What do fitness instructors earn?

As a fitness trainer in a permanent position, you can expect a starting salary of between €18,600 and €21,900 gross per year. With a few years of professional experience, the salary range then increases to €23,200 to €25,000 per year.

In the case of self-employment, the salary depends on how many clients a trainer has and how the prices are set. Apart from that, there is of course a room rent to be paid, unless you focus on home visits and outdoor training.

Where do fitness trainers work?

Fitness trainers often work in fitness studios, as permanent employees or freelancers. But fitness trainers are also needed in wellness businesses such as hotels or health centers, or in sports clubs.

Self-employment as a personal trainer is also a popular option, with many possible locations. In addition to own premises, outdoor training or home visits to customers are also common. In some gyms, you can also make arrangements to use the premises in return for rent.

It is no longer very easy to set up your own fitness studio due to the competition. This is why many fitness trainers go into areas such as workplace health promotion or sports development, where they advise on the design of fitness studios, sports grounds and gyms, for example.

What is a nutrition trainer allowed to do in Austria?

A nutrition coach is allowed to give nutritional recommendations to people who are physically healthy and need support, for example, to eat a more balanced diet, lose weight or build muscle.

In contrast to a nutritionist (also known as a dietician), a nutrition coach is not allowed to advise people with physical complaints and illnesses, such as food intolerances or diseases of the digestive tract, according to the trade regulations.

Nutrition trainers are not permitted to write nutrition plans as part of their self-employed activities. Knowledge transfer in the form of teaching activities (e.g. lectures, workshops, seminars, etc.) is excluded from the scope of the Trade Regulation Act in accordance with Section 2 GewO, i.e. no trade license is required for this. Nutritional training is permitted if it does not interfere with the area of nutritional advice (§ 119 Para. 1 GewO).

What is a nutrition trainer allowed to do in Germany?

In Germany, the terms nutrition trainer and nutritionist are the same, but there is a difference between them and the medical profession of dietician. In Germany, nutrition trainers are allowed to help healthy people change their diet or advise people who want to fundamentally improve their diet.

Where do nutrition trainers work?

As a nutrition trainer, you can become self-employed and either impart your knowledge on nutrition directly to customers or work with groups in lectures, workshops and seminars.

In a permanent position, for example, you will work in fitness and wellness hotels as a contact person for all questions relating to healthy and balanced nutrition.

FREQUENT QUESTIONS

If I have already completed a training course, will I receive credit?

If you have already completed an apprenticeship with us and you are interested in a further course, the Sports Competence module will be credited to you.

If you are studying at a university, we can sometimes credit individual subjects. For example, if you have completed training in the medical field, experience has shown that the subjects of anatomy and physiology can often be credited. If you have completed training with another provider of adult education (e.g. online trainer license, Vitalakademie, etc.), we will have to assess individually whether something can be credited.

How does payment in installments work?

A deposit of €600 is required for payment in installments for face-to-face courses

  • from 1000€ to 2000€ AK 5 monthly installments are possible
  • from 2001€ to 3000€ AK 10 monthly installments are possible
  • from 3001€ AK 15 monthly installments are possible (without interest and surcharge).

No down payment is required for distance learning courses paid in installments.

  • 6 monthly installments possible

Is there a money-back guarantee?

Flexyfit does not offer a literal money-back guarantee, but it does offer a right of withdrawal.

Based on the Distance and Off-Premises Transactions Act (FAGG) in accordance with § 1 KSchG, participants have 14 days to withdraw from the training purchase without giving reasons. We therefore send the invoice (the first invoice in the case of payment by installments) only after 2 weeks. This means that participants will not incur any costs if they withdraw from the contract within these 2 weeks.

Intro to Corporate Wellness Programs

More and more companies are integrating Corporate Wellness and similar health initiatives into their employee benefits packages. By doing so they promote the health and well-being of their employees, reducing the incidence of sick-leave and building healthier, stronger team dynamics.

Exactly why such initiatives are important is discussed in this introduction to the concept, as well as challenges that such initiatives face including organisational dysfunction.

Training Theory Basics

In this introduction to training theory we look at the foundations of training plan creation and management, including the principles of training, training methodology and factors that influence sports performance.
Because performance capacity, performance diagnostics, training and competition are so interrelated, they are covered together in this unit.

The second half of this unit Im zweiten Teil der Trainingslehre wird das Training als komplexer Handlungsprozess und im Zusammenhang mit Planung, Ausführung und Evaluation definiert und bewertet.

Module Fitness Trainer B-License

Strength Training Machines

Machine-supported strength training is a specialized form of strength training. As opposed to training with free weights, machines which provide a guided and limited movement pattern are used. The movement radius and range of motion is predetermined, which allows less room for compensatory movements or incorrect form.

This type of training is therefore very useful for novices to strength training, but it also a very important tool for bodybuilders and those recovering from injury.

Course participants will learn the proper technique and set-up for a selection of the most important and widely-used strength training machines. Some of the most common mistakes are covered and coaching points are provided so clients can be assisted in their use of machines.

Practical Hours Fitness Trainer B-License
Performing practical training sessions is an essential component to achieving the Fitness Trainer B-License.

Studying the anatomy of the human body, especially the muscles with origin and insertion, is an important part of the preparation for the exam. Documenting the practical sessions are just as important. A training record is used to get an overview of the performed session, the achieved goal and the personal experience of the participants.

There are 30 training units, in which the participants can put their acquired knowledge into practice. Each of these units has to be recorded by the participants on their own responsibility, so they can show that they are able to prepare, perform and evaluate a training session independently.

The Fitness Trainer B-License is one of our smaller training courses to gain basic knowledge on topics of strength training with machines, anatomy, physiology, training theory and much more. It is important to structure the training in a way that the participants understand the exercises and are able to perform them safely. For the practical sessions a guide will be provided to the participants, which they can use to write down the training record.

For the evidence of completed sessions, a written confirmation from a trainer or screenshots from a training app must be provided.

Module Nutrition Coach B-License

Nutrition Recommendations and Support
In Nutrition Recommendation and Support, you learn the basic concepts of nutrition and nutrient requirements. You gain the knowledge to make sound recommendations to meet nutritional needs.

The definitions of a healthy diet according to the guidelines of the nutrition societies will be discussed. In addition, the legal principles are explained in order to clarify what services you are allowed to offer your clients after completing the training.

The course also introduces the national and international nutrition societies, as well as the recommended food classification of the DGE, ÖGE and the Swiss Society. Furthermore, you will get an overview of the nutritional recommendations of the individual countries and learn about the functions of vitamins, minerals and micronutrients in the body and their ideal intake levels.

Forms of Nutrition and Diets
Industrialization has shaped the way people eat nowadays, which has led to the increasing popularity of convenience products and fast food. This development also has an impact on the health of people. More and more suffer from overweight and diet-related diseases. Therefore, it is important to deal with the topics of "types of nutrition and diets" and to learn about individual energy needs.

In the course Nutrition Forms and Diets as part of the Nutrition Trainer program, you will learn how to calculate daily energy needs, consumption and basic metabolic rate. Furthermore, you will learn about the different types of diets that are considered beneficial to health. These include vegetarianism, veganism, low fat diets, ketogenic diets and low carb diets.

Vegetarianism is a form of diet in in which only plant foods are eaten. A vegan diet is a form of vegetarianism but avoids all animal products, including milk, eggs, and honey. Low fat diets are diets that avoid eating foods that are high in fat. Ketogenic diets are diets in which the body uses mainly fats as a source of energy.  Low carb diets are diets in which the amount of carbohydrates in the food is kept as low as possible.

Physiological Aspects of Nutrition
Within the subject of Physiological Aspects of Nutrition, participants learn how to determine the body composition of clients, taking into account various measurement methods.

In addition to body weight, body composition also includes the proportion of body fat, muscle mass and bone mass. Body weight is a composition of muscle percentage, body fat percentage, bone percentage, and water percentage.
The body fat percentage is the amount of body weight that consists of fat. The body composition can be determined using various methods.

One of these methods is the compartment model. This model divides the body into different compartments that contain nutrients and differ in size and nutrient concentration. The compartment model allows for a better understanding of absorption and distribution processes of nutrients in the body. 

In addition to the physiological aspects of nutrition, the participants also learn about other interesting topics during the Nutrition Coach program.

Specialized Sports Nutrition
In this part, the knowledge of the course "Fundamentals of Sports Nutrition" in the basic module is expanded.

Participants learn about the optimal composition of sports nutrition for endurance sports and weight training. In addition, they get to know about the importance of the differences in nutritional needs during the performance and recovery phases of athletes.

Furthermore, the nutritional differences of amateur athletes and professional athletes are covered, and the importance of nutritional supplements and their appropriate use are discussed collaboratively.

In class, the knowledge of energy balance is to be repeated and expanded with knowledge of energy production, energy supply and aerobic/anaerobic glycolysis in sports.

Funding & educational leave - how it works

Can I get funding for my training?

There are a variety of funding options for training courses at the Flexyfit Sports Academy. State-specific and EU funding as well as tax-related options form the basis for this.

However, we would like to point out that the respective funding body is solely responsible for deciding on the allocation or amount of funding.

We will be happy to help you find a suitable funding body and compile all the course information you need for a funding application. You must submit the application itself to the funding body.

How does the funding work?

Depending on the funding institution, the training costs are either paid directly after the funding application has been confirmed (e.g. AMS) or reimbursed in full or in part after successful completion of the training (e.g. waff). Please contact the funding institutions yourself to find out how the funding works.

Can I take educational leave for the course?

Yes, the majority of our courses are suitable for educational leave.

If you want to continue your education without terminating your employment, you can arrange educational leave with your employer. This means you will be released from work for the duration of your training.

Plan your educational leave with us now! We will be happy to clarify your individual training requirements with you in a personal, non-binding consultation.

How does educational leave work?

You can take your educational leave for a maximum of 1 year within 4 years - there are 3 options:

  • Educational leave spread over 12 months
  • Educational leave split up, but each part must last at least 2 months. The parts must be taken within 4 years.
  • Educational leave with part-time educational leave spread over 2 years

It is important that your employer agrees to you taking educational leave. You must provide evidence of the training plans issued by us to the extent of 20 hours per week in the case of full-time educational leave, or at least 10 hours in the case of part-time educational leave.

You must regularly provide evidence of the progress of your training. For example, in the form of examinations or confirmation of attendance, which you will receive from us.

Career afterwards - how to continue after training

What does a fitness trainer do?

The areas of responsibility of a fitness trainer are varied and depend, among other things, on where and in which employment relationship they are employed or self-employed.

In both cases, the focus is of course on fitness. As an employee in a gym, you could also be responsible for administrative tasks in the administration or instructing new gym members.

As a personal trainer, you check the fitness level of your customers and set goals, create training plans for them and explain strength and endurance equipment and fitness exercises. You then accompany your customers on their journey, motivate them and ensure that they achieve their goals.

If you become a group fitness trainer, you will lead group classes for sports such as Pilates, yoga or aerobics. For this, it is advisable to take an additional course to deepen your knowledge.

What do fitness instructors earn?

As a fitness trainer in a permanent position, you can expect a starting salary of between €18,600 and €21,900 gross per year. With a few years of professional experience, the salary range then increases to €23,200 to €25,000 per year.

In the case of self-employment, the salary depends on how many clients a trainer has and how the prices are set. Apart from that, there is of course a room rent to be paid, unless you focus on home visits and outdoor training.

Where do fitness trainers work?

Fitness trainers often work in fitness studios, as permanent employees or freelancers. But fitness trainers are also needed in wellness businesses such as hotels or health centers, or in sports clubs.

Self-employment as a personal trainer is also a popular option, with many possible locations. In addition to own premises, outdoor training or home visits to customers are also common. In some gyms, you can also make arrangements to use the premises in return for rent.

It is no longer very easy to set up your own fitness studio due to the competition. This is why many fitness trainers go into areas such as workplace health promotion or sports development, where they advise on the design of fitness studios, sports grounds and gyms, for example.

What is a nutrition trainer allowed to do in Austria?

A nutrition coach is allowed to give nutritional recommendations to people who are physically healthy and need support, for example, to eat a more balanced diet, lose weight or build muscle.

In contrast to a nutritionist (also known as a dietician), a nutrition coach is not allowed to advise people with physical complaints and illnesses, such as food intolerances or diseases of the digestive tract, according to the trade regulations.

Nutrition trainers are not permitted to write nutrition plans as part of their self-employed activities. Knowledge transfer in the form of teaching activities (e.g. lectures, workshops, seminars, etc.) is excluded from the scope of the Trade Regulation Act in accordance with Section 2 GewO, i.e. no trade license is required for this. Nutritional training is permitted if it does not interfere with the area of nutritional advice (§ 119 Para. 1 GewO).

What is a nutrition trainer allowed to do in Germany?

In Germany, the terms nutrition trainer and nutritionist are the same, but there is a difference between them and the medical profession of dietician. In Germany, nutrition trainers are allowed to help healthy people change their diet or advise people who want to fundamentally improve their diet.

Where do nutrition trainers work?

As a nutrition trainer, you can become self-employed and either impart your knowledge on nutrition directly to customers or work with groups in lectures, workshops and seminars.

In a permanent position, for example, you will work in fitness and wellness hotels as a contact person for all questions relating to healthy and balanced nutrition.

FREQUENT QUESTIONS

If I have already completed a training course, will I receive credit?

If you have already completed an apprenticeship with us and you are interested in a further course, the Sports Competence module will be credited to you.

If you are studying at a university, we can sometimes credit individual subjects. For example, if you have completed training in the medical field, experience has shown that the subjects of anatomy and physiology can often be credited. If you have completed training with another provider of adult education (e.g. online trainer license, Vitalakademie, etc.), we will have to assess individually whether something can be credited.

How does payment in installments work?

A deposit of €600 is required for payment in installments for face-to-face courses

  • from 1000€ to 2000€ AK 5 monthly installments are possible
  • from 2001€ to 3000€ AK 10 monthly installments are possible
  • from 3001€ AK 15 monthly installments are possible (without interest and surcharge).

No down payment is required for distance learning courses paid in installments.

  • 6 monthly installments possible

Is there a money-back guarantee?

Flexyfit does not offer a literal money-back guarantee, but it does offer a right of withdrawal.

Based on the Distance and Off-Premises Transactions Act (FAGG) in accordance with § 1 KSchG, participants have 14 days to withdraw from the training purchase without giving reasons. We therefore send the invoice (the first invoice in the case of payment by installments) only after 2 weeks. This means that participants will not incur any costs if they withdraw from the contract within these 2 weeks.

Sportkompetenz + Fitnesstrainer B-Lizenz sind ein sehr umfangreicher Kurs, in dem jede Menge Wissen vermittelt wird, welches dem aktuellen wissenschaftlichen Stand entspricht. Man bekommt einen Gegenwert für sein Geld. Der Schwerpunkt liegt auf dem Maschinentraining. Neben bekannten Übungen, werden auch interessante Spezialübungen gezeigt. Was ich etwas vermisst habe sind klassische Hantelübungen (z.B. Kurzhantelüberzüge, Kreuzhebevarianten, Kniebeugen, Bankdrücken, Stirndrücken, SZ-Bizepscurls,... usw.), welche meiner Meinung nach insbesondere für Anfänger etwas besser geeignet sind als einige der gezeigten Kabelzugübungen. Was leider ebenfalls zu kurz kommt, sind Übungen für die Bauchmuskulatur. Hier bitte nachbessern. Auf Nachrichten wird sehr schnell reagiert. Für das Fachgespräch habe ich innerhalb von 24 Stunden einen Termin bekommen. Ich werde auf jeden Fall weitere Kurse machen. Alles in allem kann ich den Kurs sehr empfehlen.
